In the Time of Jesus

Conversation with Mystery Girl

Mom: This summer you and Calico Kid are gonna have a lot of work to do.

MG: Mom, It's not like when you were a kid when a kid had to know everything a bout a house by the age of 8!

Mom: No, times are still the same and you need to learn to take care of a house.

MG: Mom! It's not like in the time of Jesus, things are different now!

Mom: I was NOT born in the time of Jesus!

MG: (giggle) Yeah, then you would be 2000 years old!

MG: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you old!

yeah, yeah, whatever! That's why you spend so much time examining my hair just so you can pull one out by it's roots. (I do NOT have white hairs, they are just very blonde!) Besides, you have to really look for them, so NO I am not getting old.

I went shopping for myself yesterday. Only for me! It was fun, sort of, other than size selection and having to stand in front of a full length mirror in my underwear! I found a bunch of stuff on sale and saved almost as much as I spent. I figured total savings was about 40% between 4 different stores. I got myself an outfit to wear to church in my favorite colors, Chocolate, cream, rust, and tree green. Ok, brown, off-white, orangy-red, and green. I also found some pj's, shorts, and some comfy capris for bouncing around the house and yard. You'd think that in the country that you wouldn't see many people and it wouldn't matter what you wore, but not so here! Those farmhands are everywhere! And I don't really feel like embarrassing myself or them with looking like a rag-a-muffin all the time. Dr. O deserves better than that. He deserves a pretty wife that he's not embarrassed to have! Not that I'm going to dress up or anything, just have decent coverage and sorta matching stuff!
