Fall, My Favorite Time of Year

Fall

Leaves are turning

orange and yellow and red.

Leaves are falling

all 'round my head.

It's that time of year, again.

Harvest is on its way,

pumpkins and squash and corn.

Harvest is plentiful,

peppers and tomatoes and more.

It's that time of year, again.

Friends gather together

for parties and rides and songs.

Friends sing together

'round fires with hotdogs and 'mallows and tongs.

It's that time of year, again.

Scarecrows stand guard

while jack-o-lanterns leer.

Scarecrows frighten

while trick or treaters chant and cheer.

It's that time of year, again.

Family comes from near and far

to share the bounty of the season.

Family spends a day

thanking the Lord with good reason.

It's that time of year, again.
