Tae Kwon Do - a whole new language

Yesterday, I found information about Tae Kwon Do (TKD), convinced hubby to permit Tori to join, and took Tori to class. There, she joined in and did pretty good for not doing it for the last 5 years or so. The exercises look to be technical, but not too difficult at this stage, however, each command in in Korean. When shouted, they don't sound the same as when spoken slowly. For instance, Kia, sounds like KE. It is actually just spoken very fast and forcefully. The other commands, I totally didn't get at all. It seems that Tori did, which is good. I found that TKD is not as expensive as I thought it would be. It is part of community education at the Middle School. Which is cool. The monthly fees are not bad I should say, but the testing fees escalate for each level and each level is tested every three months, and not everyone gets to advance every time they test. (I hope it takes a long time to advance to keep the fees lower!) JK! Anyway, I got Tori in so she can have an extra curricular activity and GET RID OF NEGATIVE ENERGY so she won't be quite so angry at home. There, she can punch and kick it all out in a safe and controlled way. She loved the class, after figuring out why they counted 1234, 2234, 3234, 4234! Poor thing, it confused her and she was lost for the warm up section. All of a sudden, the light came on, and she was able to participate quite well. I was impressed.
