Mom, Were You an Angel Before You Were Born?
My son and I went on a DATE yesterday! He came up to me while I was posting yesterdays blog and asked if he and I could have a date. I asked him where he wanted to go on a date and he answered "Burger King" "I have a free ticket, it won't cost anything." Wow! Now what? So, I told him I'd have to think about it. (Dumb! the kid wants to spend time with you, or is it the food?) Finally, I say yes and we head out to BK and then he says CKid: "What are you going to get mom?" MOM: "Well, I think I'll just get a soda. I think I can afford a soda." CKid: "Mom, I'll buy you something to eat." MOM: "With what money?"(all $6) CKid: "Well, I can buy you a shake!" When we got there, he ordered his free food and a LARGE SHAKE. Oh my goodness! He can't drink/eat all of that! Oh, yeah, he's buying it for me. CKid: "We can share it Mom." And so, we did. I helped him drink his shake and watched him eat his cheeseburger and got hungry. So, I sent him up to buy one for Mom. (Of course I paid!) While we ate and drank our Cheeseburgers and Shake, we talk a little about little boy things. then he ups with the question, "Mom, were you an angel before you were born?" Now where did that come from? Of course I was an angel! I just stopped being an angel when I had kids! So kind of you to think so! "What made you think of that, CKid?" "Oh, I'm just trying to figure out where you came from." How sweet! And he's 9! I guess to a 9 year old, a mom can and should be an angel. (He didn't say what kind of angel! Hope he meant an angel of light or something. I'd hate to be the angel of revenge and retribution!) Later, he came over and thanked me for going on a date with him and that he had fun. I think we'll have to do this again sometime!
