Thank You

Thank you all for your advice and kind words. We are planning to have a sleepover here this weekend if Mystery Girl continues to do a good job at school this week. I think that when we drop the other girl off at home would be a good time to approach this. It may be, too, that this mom doesn't actually say stuff in front of the kids....but, we'll see. Mystery Girl is sooo excited about this sleepover. She has already picked out which games they can play and has started cleaning her room. She's planned the menu. Now she just needs to invite the friend!

Sometimes I believe meds are needed, but years ago they didn't have ADHD and parents and teachers just figured out how to channel a kids energy in the right direction. A lot of those kids needed more of a challenge in certain areas. In something that interested them. Often in extra-curricular activities or hobbies. If they are so distracted all the time that it interrupts their lives and learning, and interrupts other peoples lives, too, then I would check into meds. But that mother needs to understand that different families have different needs and different solutions.
