Where's My Spoon?

Today, we had a picnic and apple orchard tour with a bunch of people from our church. As we were getting ready to depart for the picnic, I asked my husband to make sure he sliced the Zuccinni Bread while I got everything else on the table to get ready to put in the car. He makes one slice, two slices, then begins his third slice when the knife struck an odd obstruction in the bread. So, he tried it again, and again, and again. Finally he partially lifted the slice out of the bread pan to find, (gasp! lol) a spoon. That's right, I said a spoon. Baked into the bottom of the zuccinni bread. Now, HOW ON EARTH DID HE DO THAT? Then he says to me, but I didn't use a spoon in the batter. Noooo, I think you poured the batter OVER the spoon. A spoon that we eat with. Now, I'm wondering if we should take the bread with us. After all, how do I know that it was a CLEAN spoon? What are the chances?! Hmmm. So, I said nothing (I was laughing too hard). And guess what! He took it to the picnic! And people ATE it. I wonder who got the piece that is spoon shaped on the bottom? Of all the weird things to bake into a loaf of bread. At least we found it BEFORE we took it to the picnic and served the bread with the spoon IN it. Now that would have been totally humiliating!

Too funny. I've heard of things like that happening, but never have I known anyone who has committed the deed!

Rana, this is way to funny! I had to laugh right out loud. I can't wait to share it with the rest of my family tomorrow. Don't worry, what ever germs there were on the spoon, if used, has been baked away.
Love ya,

That's pretty funny Rana! I'm glad you cut it before taking it to the picnic. You know what I did once for a church dinner? I broiled a cake! I was wondering why the top of it was so black (it was a strawberry cake). Needless to say, we just bought one from the store on our way. When we got home, we cut the top off and tried it. It still tasted pretty good. Well, that's what happens when you are in too much of a hurry to do something.
