Mystery Girl's B-Day

I'm a few days late with posting the pictures from the Birthday Girl, but I just downloaded my camera. So, here they are:
My Mother made a beautiful "Cabbage Patch" doll for Mystery Girl. It came out soooo well. I love it. Of course, Mystery Girl really likes it, too. Of course she has no idea how much effort went into the making of the doll. She also received a gift card to Borders from Grandma and Grandpa Speed.

Here Mystery Girl's doll is sitting next to mine. Mother made this one for me in 1986.

Grandma Susan gave her a Shrek Scrabble game. I've played more scrabble in the last few days than I have in years. I guess it's more fun when your kids are old enough to actually play a game with you on their own, rather than you playing if for them. In some ways, I'm really glad that they are getting older! Grandparents Woodhull gave her a big red dog and Grandparents Duell gave her a necklace. Very pretty.

Anyway, it was a nice birthday celebration. My dad was here to share in it and we sweetened him up plenty I'm afraid. We had a large cookie, chocolate cake, homemade ice cream, and carmel rolls. I'm sure he won't need any more sweets for a long time!

I have started writing down some of the stories that come from having kids. I'm hoping to compile them for a book or some such thing. We'll see how that goes. I'd also like to start doing articles for magazines ane newpapers. I guess I'll just have to take it as it comes and find interesting material to write about. Maybe someday, I'll be able to leave my mark on those I leave behind.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Glad her birthday was nice. Can't wait to see the kids again. And you and "O", of course.
